The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as the Double Fifth Festival, the Mid-day Festival, the May Festival, etc., is a traditional cultural festival spread among Chinese people in various countries and some countries in the Chinese character cultural circle. It is scheduled for the fifth day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar.

There are many theories about the origin of the Dragon Boat Festival, and there are two most widely accepted versions. One is that it originated from the festival used by people in ancient times to drive away disease and epidemics, and the other is that it is to commemorate the Chu poet Qu Yuan who died on this day.

For the latter theory, Qu Yuan chose to commit suicide by jumping into the river on this day after being loyal to the Chu State but failing politically. His loyalty and talent deeply influenced people, so people began to hold various activities on this day to comfort his spirit in heaven. These include dragon boat racing and making rice dumplings, hoping to drive Qu Yuan's body temperature into the river.

To date, the Dragon Boat Festival has become an important festival that showcases Chinese traditional culture and folk customs, with rich and diverse celebration customs, such as wearing wormwood, eating spiced beans, and racing dragon boats.
